“The gap between wanting to know and being is wide open like a womb giving perpetual birth.” Yes, Nimila.

This left me breathless because it perfectly captures how the wildest, most terrifying parts of our pain are often the exact things that finally make us untamable and unstoppable ✨

Very raw and real. You do this kind of poetry so well and it's always an incredible read.

This is real writing. Raw, physical, cellular. The kind that comes from somewhere you can't plan — it arrives or it doesn't.

A few things that hit hard:

"you are safe for others but you are not safe for yourself" — that's the whole tension of the piece in one line. The person who holds everyone's secrets but can't hold their own weight.

"born with your mother clenching jaws, it stays in your cellular memory" — that's not metaphor. That's somatic truth. You feel that in the body reading it.

And the turn at the end is earned. It doesn't resolve — it transforms. Running from becomes running toward. The wolf isn't the threat anymore. It's the self coming home.

The structure mirrors the content beautifully — fragmented, breathless, circling — and then the final paragraph opens up. Longer sentences. The jaw reaching sky and soil simultaneously. That's the whole arc of the piece in one image.

Thank you so much for reading so closely, you captured the essence so beautifully.

"untamed instincts forming a prism of unearthed roots coming out, swirls of freedom felt in the gut of the universe as you run and run and run with the knowledge that nothing can stop you from your true wildness" 🖤🖤🖤

My song for tomorrow is about running wild and free. I think we got bitten by the same wolf. It was originally supposed to post today. I love every second of this. Can feel the wilderness in my bones.

Oh wow, uncanny yet so familiar.

This reminded me of ''Women Who Run With the Wolves'', by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

There is always something within us that we call abyss - until the moment we recognize it.

And then it changes form. It becomes part of who we are.

We just need the right space for that recognition. Or the right people.

Maybe night is such a space - where everything is still, yet fully awake.

Upper jaw reaching the sky, lower jaw touching the soil — amazing imagery and rhythm to the whole piece. A stream of consciousness yet all the images talking to each other, feral energy moving through the forest. Loved this 🖤

I feel like that wolf much of the time. Nicely done.

oh my, this is so good. so many quotable lines from this piece alone, but i will stick with this one: "upper jaw reaching the sky, lower jaw touching soil." finally biting back in a world that force feeds you what you must do. i love how this interweaves grief and animalistic transformation, the frustration of a life taking hits from everyone else only to realise that you are angry. you feel raw. and your jaw can only open as wide as it must when that feeling emerges, because how else do you mourn the years you've collected pain with nowhere to go?

The imagery is vivid and I will also need to reread it later--often with creative works, they don't give all they have the first time.

I was so relieved at the final resolution of this anguished poem, the opening jaw, and the narrator finally becoming the wolf, your words are powerful, as always. Ancestral or is it past life? memories are stirred for me here. A wounded wolf becomes dangerous to humans in order to survive, inimical to cosy fireside quietness, but a wolf restored to its pack will know friendship, loyalty and belonging without compromising its nature. Wisdom cards always single out the wolf as teacher.💚
